First topic message reminder :

Well, as I started one for the Championship, it seems now is the time for the Premier League 2014/15 thread to begin!

We have all our teams, with Leicester, Burnley and QPR replacing Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich. Can City retain, can United break into the top four, how will Liverpool cope with Champions League football. All this and more can be discussed as we see how the transfers, the rumours, the World Cup and everything else make an impact on the Premier League before it all kicks off?

I'll open it up...the Telegraph, Sky Sports and others report Pochettino is top of Spurs' shortlist and could be unveiled in the next week. Thoughts? Sounds the perfect fit to me. Some suggesting he'll bring Rodriguez with him, although that sounds like immediate clutching to me.

But as long as the demands of Pulis are not too ambitious or extravagant, then I would imagine he will get what he desires because he is utterly vital to Palace.

Not the best preparation for Saturday!

If they'd been able to get Caulker and Sigurdsson things would be looking a lot rosier. I don't think they would have been particularly extravagant. I can understand him being a bit frustrated as a lot of their rivals have spent a lot. Still think Palace will survive with the squad they've got.

what squad have we got?

we have players that are ok playing a set way...

If Pulis goes I want Zaha badly.

But I dont want Pulis to go.

If he leaves before the game v Arsenal that is the ultimate feick you to the fans and players and staff- whatever his issue is with Parish.. At least wait till the end of the window.

I'm with the Palace chairman on this one, its pretty obvious Pulis has money to spend or else why did he go for Caulker/Sigurdsson

Yet they havent got the deals done. So they're either not bidding enough or their wage ceiling is too low.

If he's gonna go then he'd be kinder going quick so a new manager can work on spending whatever amount there is.

If he goes tommorow, we will have millen as a fill in and parish will conduct all the business in the transfer anyway. What manager could we get at this short notice?

I'd imagine they haven't got deals done cos they wouldn't pay a ridiculous wage for Caulker (compared to QPR) and Sigurdsson chose his old club who play a style that fits him over a Tony Pulis side.

Money is clearly there, Pulis isn't the first manager to miss out on a few targets. Buckle up and move on

The Betting sites are suspending the Pulis first out market. Worrying. Looks a certainty.

What a start to the season hey....

And let's remember when Pulis spends money, he spends 15-20m on Wilson Palacios and Peter Crouch

must be a good mate of Pulis's or family!!

cheeky sod. Someone profiting like that out of Palaces woes!!

I think we have to stick on Millen for a bit.

he did well as soon as Holloway left and he must have learnt the system..

I dont want an impulse manager appointment.

Wholly depends on who they appoint next. They've a good squad there, certainly not a relegation one, so a good manager will do alright (players like Gayle might get more of a go than they would under Pulis)

I am still confused as to why he walked out on  job without another one. He won't be getting paid anything...

It's very strange this.

Did he place the money on himself at 40's.....

Or has he been tapped up.   He could be off to west ham.. I have a feeling.. I just hope he then doesn't take some players with him..

Financially he's sorted anyway, doesn't need a job immediately. His stock is sky high after what he did last season, he'll be offered every single job in the bottom half of the EPL, that's available, pre or post xmas this season, with owners browning their pants at the prospect of relegation. At Palace, he's going nowhere. With respect to the club, he's done his job at Selhurst, he's never going to take them any further than what they currently are, without a foreign owner.

If WHU think Pulis will do a better job than Sam or change the style, then their delusional

I think a team or two have tapped him up. But he won't go to a team in a lesser place than palace. So who is there?

West ham, Newcastle?

Swansea- nope not there style.
Sunderland won't get rid of poyet.

The 3 teams coming up= zero chance . For different reasons.

Aston villa... Who just brought in keane as number 2.. Pulis wouldn't deal with that.

Stoke.. Obviously not.

Pulis throwing his toys out the pram won't attract some owners (and tbf he did it at stoke, but there owners pockets are a bit deeper)

Pulis off course could sit about and wait out a couple of months and demand stupid money for 3/4's of a season.. And have a huge pay day from a club at the bottom.

But football doesn't work like that. The pressure will be immense. He isn't a magician ..

I think he has been tapped up.

Nobody is gonna have tapped him to appoint him a few days before the season starts.

He's got moody over a perceived lack of funds, the chairman has stood his ground (and not wilted like Stoke's did) and he's thrown his toys out. Good on Palace I say, Pulis with money nearly bit Stoke massively on the arse
