The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
FYI, the last pub was :

Aye I've done the mile and and a half closing time walk from the Culm to YTH. Navigate along the road by the top of the 9' high hedgerows to keep from falling into a ditch. Meet several startled drivers en route as drunken men are caught unexpectedly in their headlights. Avoid being crushed against a stout tree by a Wisemans milk artic turning left.
It's grand stuff is that walk

Well done Gibbo *firmhandshake*
That's me for today. Going to buy Zwartbles sheep for Miss G tomorrow. They're Dutch and all Gibbo, black with a White blaze, socks and tail tip. Something different so she can tell them apart from Tadcu's Texels.

Are Texel sheep that special Glas? Funny (peculiar - not haha) I spent the best weekend ever with said couple on Texel. It was 35 degrees and we could have been in the Carribean. No cars, just bikes. Bottles of beer, wine and bad attitudes. I think we near laffed ourselves to death. Glorious.

I am watching the final of the Milk Cup. Youth Football tournament that has been taking place in the North East for almost 30 years. Amazing thing is Manchester Utd youths (U16) are being tanked 4 - 0 by a team fromn Quatar.

Rava,I wonder how many of those players are actually from Qatar. Also ROI's team got tonked 5-0 in the Euro U-19 championships to Spain though to be fair.

There are more Texel rams used for breeding Butcher's lambs in the UK than any other breed. They can get to heavier weights without getting too fat, which is a problem for the native breeds, especially the females. The meat is lean and tasty.
Anyway Gibbo, I've put a photo on fookbase that may cheer you up.

There was a TV show on Beefy the other night Hound. Showed all his ups and downs. And then - THAT walk. Great stuff. The Big C is not as scary as it used to be, even 10 years ago. So many advances. I lost a few to it too mo chara. Hate the very word... But we are fighting back. Get it diagnosed early and the Force is with you now.
Im breakin me bollix laffing at Miranda on the BEEB. She's great.

Gibbo - the whole thing (the pub) has got way bigger than anyone thought. A big to eveyone for making it happen. A mutual thing occurs when we meet up in real life, despite some of the disagreements that can occur in here.
The Leinster v Sarries, and ACC/HC weekend in Cardiff, plus all the other major and mini meets are testimony to that from a personal perspective. The trust is amazing for an on line forum.

Gibbo, that is a wonderful story. The happiest times are when we snatch joy from the jaws of despair. Much love
I also very much appreciated your kind text a few days ago.
Ye should all come to Belfast in September- go to Ulster vs Cardiff and then watch Ireland vs Australia the next day in Standulstermans pub. Now that would be some craic, eh?

Evening people,
Gibbo, big in lieu of a real one in a few days time. So pleased to hear you've had some good news. Strength and positive thoughts for your friend, she sounds a strong lady, I know you'll both do all you can to supplement that strength. We can't control what happens but maybe, just maybe, we can influence it.

nottins - read back (if you haven't done so) re the walk back from the CVI. A novel experience that was. Calmed down by a few single malts upon making it back as I (hazily) recall.
3 real ciders and at least 6 local ales on offer in Asbo's local. A true gem of a village pub. All too many of which are being lost around the country.
A wee rant that last bit, but heartfelt. Heritage - keep as much of it as we can, while we still can
Rava Hows about ya!
