First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

This is the first Pub of 606v2's second year, here's hoping for another good one.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Augustin Pichot, David Campese, Mal O'Kelly and Jim Williams above the bar!

1st serve is more of an issue for me Pete. When he starts missing those, that's when the pressure comes on, and the mental strength thing comes into play. Or is it lack of mental strength that makes him miss his serves in the first place? chin

he got broken back anyways 4-2 Djoko.

Agree he's unlucky to come up against the likes of Djoko, Nadal and Federer though. Those 3 can just step it up that extra level that Murray can never seem to.

I heard someone say about Andy Murray that he's comfortably fourth-best player in the world - clear of those behind him and a step away from those ahead of him. But there's time yet for him to get there.

Ah man, still haven't found a present to get for my friend for her engagement party tomorrow, really struggling for ideas. Going to have to do a mad shop for something in the morning!

On the women's side of things, I'm glad we're going to get a new world number one. Wozniacki's so boring.

ah wow an amazing game in the tennis! lasted way more than 10 mins, Murray gets it, but all that effort and it was just to break back. Now 2-2 in the 2nd set, Murray to serve next.

Pete - hadn't heard that about Hook at all! But then there were reports out a few weeks ago that he may have to play in a game for Perpignan so maybe there's something in it.

So in effect they are -34 for 3. If we can skittle another couple before they break even in the second dig then we are well in the box seat.

Will need to bat well though, as it's obviously turning a bit.

I took some vital statistics early in the week to monitor my new fitness regime, and it appears I've lost 1/2" off my height over the last two years. I know it's normal to shrink a little as we get older, but when I did the maths, if this trend continuies and I reach my allocated 4 score and 10 - I'll be 5'0" tall. Shocked

Ah just got a Friday feeling last night (despite being Thursday). So booked a restaurant, told herself to be ready for 7pm without giving away any details and had a lovely meal in a restaurant we hadnt been to before but had good reputation. Then some drinks afterwards in the bar nearby. Nice last minute decision.

How can you win such a good set and then crumble to 4-1 in the 4th??

Also almost got caught in an almost biblical hail shower, crazy it was, it's left a coating of mini ice balls everywhere.
