First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Jonathan Davies (JD2), and all of the weekend's 6 Nations debutants above the bar!

I was slightly disturbed yesterday when I agreed with Chunky on something (in fairness, an Irish poster was trying to argue that Dusatoir wasn't good enough to make the Irish back row and that Earls was miles better than Rougerie Shocked )

Wasn’t Emerick only with Ulster on a short term contract anyway MrsP?

I’m not surprised at the nasty stuff - he has a bit of previous, having dumped Ollie Barkley on his bonce (no damage done there though Whistle ) and kicked DTH van der Merwe in the head playing against Canada. He got 10 weeks for that one!

Still, a 32 year old whose rugby highlight was probably playing for the Dragons for two years (sorry Dragons fans) is not the kind guy we need right now.

He was only a short term contract but I think he still had time on it when he made that tackle but he never played in our shirt again.

Yeah Emerick was totally average. We got well clear of him. I guess he filled a hole, but it was a misstep. We should have brought through someone like Gilroy much sooner in hindsight instead of signing a journeyman.

I just ballsed up my Guinness fantasy Six Nations transfers. I swapped Bonnaire for Harinordoquy and Dan Cole for Andrea Lo Cicero - two out of the possible four transfers - and I wanted to swap Ben Youngs for Morgan Parra, but I didn't have enough points. So I swapped Jonny Sexton for Charlie Hodgson in the hope that that would give me enough points but it didn't, so I had to use my last transfer to swap Hodgson for Sexton, who I had in the first place!

Yesterday morning I swapped out Parra for Yachvilli and made a change to my pack, only for the latter to be ruled out, and didn't have enough points to bring Parra back in. On top of that I had to sub out Murray, so was forced to go with Mike Phillips in order to have a starting half-back. And I really dislike Phillips* Sad

I'm finding it very difficult to seriously engage with posters outside now. Often I start writing a reply ten I stop, because it is apparent that posters are simply writing about what they want reality to be- how can you argue with that? Anyone else feel that?

Anyway, back to some real bread and butter rugby tonight. Ulster vs Dragons without the Irish lads and a couple of our Springbok big hitters out injured. We've a good backline out but a very average pack with the exception of our stand-in Captain, big John Afoa, and Dan Tuohy.

A good bit of experience behind the scrum with Pienaar, Wallace and Terblanche- but we need to win the ball first!

Willy, as I said in what I wrote a few days ago, he won't make the Euros, if he doesn't play in this game. I'm really disappointed. This guy is talented, would we get rid of Trap after the Euros FFS.

I'd personally pay for the plane tickets, as long as he takes Deccie with him.

It is a shame T. But Id say Trap has his team and maybe 15 players nailed down now. He wont want his System messed with by individuals, at this stage.

Hound a trip to the Dam was the setting for the famous airport announcement:

"will passengers Davies, Davies, Davies, Rees and Davies board at gate three now or the plane will leave without you!"

We had got there two hours early, but were playing cards in the bar. By the way three of the four Davieses were unrelated.
