The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to the homeland of the wonderful Eirebilly, who we were all horrified to hear that he was involved in a helicopter crash on Friday. Better news though is that he's awake and swearing like a sailor, so no change there Feel free to take in all of the pubs, of which the Greyhound is but one of many.
Updates on Billy's progress can be found here: https://www.606v2.com/t30132-eirebilly-op-updated-02-06-2012 and I'm sure we'll all continue in sending the positive thoughts and good wishes to him and his family.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the snooker table, brought in especially for Billy. And I'm not quite sure how that picture of a sheep got above the bar.....
Old pub: https://www.606v2.com/t29683p950-the-dew-drop-inn-erc-2012-commemorative-pub-dublin#1271612

The powers that be need a distraction Glas. Jubilee is perfect. Lots of people just cheer what they're told to cheer.

By the way, anyone wanting a bit of proper entertainment on TV tonight - get yourselves over to BBC2. THE TERMINATOR
Love you Penfro.
Just make sure you know who your enemy is bud. There's the enemy you know and the friends that will be for ever.
PS. So proud of Junior dotting down twice against your second-string Dragons, if only I could persuade him to put that much effort into a Bath performance...

All this moaning about the monarchy from Ye lads is classic. It's even funnier when your all in bed this morning enjoying your bank holiday Tuesday and not going to work.
That's what would give your argument some credence but no, ye all are tucked up in bed enjoying your day off granted to you by Lizzy.
Not me though I've stuck two fingers up to her and said NO!!! I'm happily working away today

Quite right Rava.
She's quite nobley.
My 'bit' for the economy is paying my staff an extra day holiday (which was optional) so they can spend that money in the local economy.
Mrs G is like a flat tyre this morning. The bash at the castle was a small rural parish council's idea. Kiddies sports, burgers, beacon, that sort of thing. They put one advert in the local rag and more people turned up than live in the parish...
God save feudalism! Long live serfdom!

Our village had a great time; the first time for a few years now when the whole village actually got together to do stuff (welly wanging; treasure tral around the village; lunch etc etc). We drank the bar out of beer and it was great. We have these flipping 40 / 44 ton lorries on the main road through the village for 20 hours a day and it cuts the village in half and forces many people to drive where 20 years ago we walked.
So this was a really great weekend and I don't care what the cause was - it was a village event

Morning again. I love it when I have the road to myself. My normal journey that can take from 50 - 60 minutes was done in 43 minutes this morning and yesterday.
The good thing about watching Angels and Demons last night was I could recognise a lot of the buildings in Rome, having been there last year.

That's the spirit of it Kia. That more than the pageantry I think. Our town is having some celebrations this weekend that I am looking forward to. Also have a barbecue at church on Saturday afternoon when I help do the cooking.

Morning All
I was up at half six, and am on a break from doing housework. It's worth considering that this bank holiday isn't by choice for some, just like some of you had no choice working it. Still, some of you working get paid overtime? At least you have the option of earning extra money on such days.
Whilst we're on the subject, I find it irritating that those who don't support the jubilee for whatever reason are accused of being miserable. I think some people are just tired of the way in which this particular event is being covered. It's media overkill. Take today's TV schedule - BBC 1 are covering the jubilee from 6:00am until 1:00pm. ITV are covering exactly the same thing from 8:30am until 4:00pm. Not to mention total coverage on the news channels I expect. I think this jubilee coverage differs from previous events because of the olympics and the Euro crisis - what better time for the Tories to spin their anti-Euro propaganda and make us all proud to be British? . Although I don't support the monarchy personally, each to their own if they want a party or whatever, but don't get in my face because I don't want to get involved. I haven't been spouting off to anyone else for doing their thing. Just been quietly avoiding it all as much as possible - although that's been quite difficult.
Anyway, that's my parliamentary debate for today. Have a good day everyone whatever you're doing.

+ 0.97 Notch.
Absolute gale blowing outside right now. Damage out there for sure. Half of my pot plants have been blown over.
Possibly the worst conditions for footy. I can see an upset on the cards.
2 hours to kick-off. I'll be very surprised if it's not as bad as this up in Newcastle. It's only 150km away but the winds from the south are gusting up to 120km+ ... heading north towards old "Coal River"

Is it just me though or is celebrating the longevity of the head of state a bit of a moot point if its an unelected position?.....

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
We're getting truck loads of the Jubilee celebrations day & night too.
In fact, watching things through a live camera there outside BP now.... as I'm about to flick channels and watch "The Project".
My take is that of all the malevolent forms of leadership around the world we could have had; we've been pretty lucky having a nice lady like QEII reigning for 60 years.
OK, I don't know her personally - but I did puddle splash her many years ago in Macquarie St... and got away with it. But I still reckon we could have got worse than HRM E as a Monarch. I also like all the street scenes full of fanfare, smiling people, buildings... and the look of the trees, etc.
Must be a pain if you have to deliver an envelope from Battersea to West Ealing though.

Quick question why the heck are Scotland playing Australia at 10:30 on a Tuesday Morning?!
Also, the Irish summer Tour preview is done for writers who want to take a sconce.
Also Rodders, you should be able to watch the Irish game if you want to from this.: http://www.tg4.ie/en/tg4-player/tg4-player.html?id=1673151590001&title=U-20%20World%20Cup

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
Starts at 7:30 pm here, Thomond... it's 6:30 now.
Why they are playing on a Tuesday night is beyond me. We should always play Scotland on weekends... in the afternoon. In sunny weather, on a firm track, etc.
The heavy rain has eased for a moment in Sydney but all those gales were heading north... up to the Central Coast and Newcastle. Severe weather warnings everywhere - half of Gippsland (eastern Victoria) was flooded today! 7m waves off the coast.
"Snow on the central and northern tablelands tonight. The epicentre of the low is moving towards Newcastle." (weather channel just now.)

Thanks Thomond, it wasn't available last night when I checked... will hopefully catch that one later ...fantastic result and a real timely kick up the backside for Irish rugby.
It seems we are performing at every level except senior international level.

Thanks Rodders, just added a line above - heavy snow in southern NSW/Vic skifields today but more expected in central NSW up towards Qld border. Barrington Tops - about 100km from Newcastle is part of the Great Dividing Range so gets snow.
It was nice and sunny this morning. Then like the photos show (between 2:20pm and 3:20pm)... this amazing storm came in.

Morning all.
Just read my gas bill - we managed to use 50% more gas over April-June this year vs last which tells you all you need to know about this spring's weather (admittedly thanks to the warm March we used quite a bit less in the Dec-Mar year on year comparison.
Meanwhile, do you think the pieman in this article has been to the Sean Fitzpatrick school of telling your audience what they want to hear:

"I guess you could say, just like rugby, the Poms invented pies but were rubbish at doing it," he said.

That's what would give your argument some credence but no, ye all are tucked up in bed enjoying your day off granted to you by Lizzy.
Not me though I've stuck two fingers up to her and said NO!!! I'm happily working away today
Well personally speaking, whilst currently enjoying my 4th day off since Easter, I've earned it.
Nice song suggestion by-the-way Hoog.

PS, if Biltong's about, the Miss NZ pageant has just been held. It appears it's not just cricketers NZ is poaching from South Africa
