I don't know about that James McArthur ain't great if Shelvey could do that role he may slot in beside Kebab.

Re: January Transfer Window 2016
Rumours we've bid £19m for Alexandre Lacazette. Year ago, would of laughed, but he's had a poor 12 months & his stock has dropped, so this could be a possibility. Looks like Ashley will spend his way to safety, to be a part of that TV deal. Fall back option could still be Loic Remy on loan.

Newcastle have been involved in transfer talks with Alexandre Lacazette. 'Would you like to sign for Newcastle?' 'No.' 'Ok.'
didnt think he'd even consider a relegation scrap. I'd expect Newcastle to get Remy on loan.

I bet nobody had a bold prediction of Bournemouth's front line, consisting of Stephan El Shaarawy & Juan Iturbe, flanking Glenn Murray

Bringing in notoriously volatile foreign players into a tightly knit group of mainly British based players?

The forward joined Monaco over the summer on loan with an option to buy that would come into effect at the 25th competitive appearance. The club decided not to keep him and dropped the player after 24 games. Now the Rossoneri must find another solution for the Little Pharaoh and it’s reported today they have set a price-tag of €14m on the Italy international or a loan. Sky Sport Italia claim this evening that Bournemouth have submitted a loan offer to El Shaarawy, but the player would prefer to remain in Serie A.

Another example of LVG's mistakes, as United in talks to terminate Adnan Januzaj's Dortmund loan contract & get him back.

Re: January Transfer Window 2016
for his development it might have not been a bad thing for the lad if he actually got a run (which he didnt and thats why he'll be getting recalled), hopefully see him get his head down as i think the start he had went to his head a bit.
got a feeling he's going to be another macheda, just far too lightweight and loses the ball everytime somebody gets close. hope im wrong. he's behind young, martial, mata even with our shortages. not sure about depay as he's awful

Depay is young and in a new league. Needs time. Shown some quality although has generally been poor.
Wouldn't call him awful.
Januzaj isn't playing fort dortmund so he's being recalled.

Depay makes me wish we had Nani back!!
He's young, but been playing at a good level already so we should expect more. I'm willing to give him time but it'd be nice if he could at least show us something in the mean time, only played well against very poor sides at the start of the season

Re: January Transfer Window 2016
He will basically hold out until the end of the window for a better offer, as only 12 months ago, he was highly regarded. Lyon have accepted, so will want to push him to agree, no doubt. Newcastle might still end up getting him, if nobody else shows interest, but instead of getting him in ASAP, they might have to wait around for Jim White, before he makes a decision.

Depending on where you read it's any of a number of things. Club were rumoured to have enquired with a substantial offer, they asked the player and he said no.
Think the club are more annoyed that now it's out everyone knows they have money.

Basically every PL club has money to burn, Newcastle were ranked in the top 20 valuable clubs this year & Ashley is a billionaire. It's not a surprise & it's not a surprise Ashley will blow money to be a part of the £2.9bn TV deal.

Re: January Transfer Window 2016
To be honest, give me Loic Remy on loan, instead of spending £22m on a player who doesn't really want to join & we would have to wait until February to even play him.

Yes but Newcastle are precious about that kind of thing. Inflates the price of their targets because teams know there is money in the bank.

Anthony Knockeart signs.
Ticks a lot of boxes though. Skilful, quick, good cross, chips in with goals, good at set pieces, knowledge of the championship.
Good luck to him. Lua Lua and Baldock back as well. Hopefully we can pick up our early season form.

We've apparently rejected 8m offer from Bournemouth for Lewis Grabban. Two mental things here;
1 - Bournemouth offered 8m for Lewis Grabban
2 - We rejected it

Newcatle about to sign yet another average Ligue1 player in the person of Henri Saivet (ex- forward who now plays defensive midfield in Bordeaux). If that fails he might just go to Bournemouth instead.

Re: January Transfer Window 2016
Totally underwhelmed with Shelvey for £12m. I know we need an offensively minded central midfielder, but still not convinced he's fully committed to the game or the profession. Weight issues too & I watched him against Oxford & it was just embarrassing. If we go for more Ligue 1 players, then we deserve relegation. Also, linked with Berahino too, again, another player with question marks over their character.
To be honest, we haven't been playing bad, we don't need major surgery, we just need a goalscorer. If we got Loic Remy on loan, I'd be pleased.

Newcastle are said, to still have an £18m offer on the table. Can see him going, but I think Peace wants Levy to come pleading again for Saido & doing a deal with Townsend.
Fernando wrote:If anyone need a forward go after Wilfried i think he may leave Citeh
Problem, as ever with City, is offloading players. He's on a long deal, massive wages, so shifting him will be difficult. £28m is what they're asking for him too? Shown his quality in this league, when he's the focus, but can't see anyone stumping up that amount for him. Also, in the future, the ACON always is a downside, as Ivory Coast usually make the final & he misses nearly six weeks of PL football

Re: January Transfer Window 2016
Read that Tiote is off, so might be his replacement. Shelvey is the signing i think you need. Don't buy his performances recently are his temperament, i think he's unhappy at Swansea; start of the season and last year he was superb for them. Steal, determination and a battler. Alongside Colback and some creativity he could do a job.
