The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Pyongyang in a bid to persuade Kim Jong Un to pack away the missiles, grab a beer and watch the rugby.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Donal Walsh, Chris & the late Hannah Eaton, the retiring Marcus Horan, the recently hospitalised Schalk Burger (with meningitis), the recuperated Jacques Burger, and the three-peating ANBL champion NZ Breakers

Yes, of course Mr Rolland, I'll have a word with him about it at HT. Not now though... he's busy infringing at the base.

Munster have cancelled their long standing traditional of training between two cities.
From now on Limerick will be our training centre. Cork will no longer be used.

Are you happy with that? I feel sorry for the people of Cork but is there less interest there?
Good for Limerick though.

No they will still play matches in Cork.
I mean for training. Munster have always had a tradition of having no fixed training centre. Some days they train in Cork, other days they train in Limerick.
Limerick has much better facilities and logistically we can't have players on the road 4 hours a day for training.
We'll be building a new state of the art Munster rugby facility in Limerick now.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
Couldn't they build a zip wire between Cork and Limerick so the players could go to and fro?

Great try from Rod Davies in the Reds 32-17 demolition of the Sharks. Cooper did a tidy kick into space and it bobbled up nicely.
They have only replayed it about 8 times in the last hour on the sports news here!

So per capita, you could say you have probably the best state of the art facilities in world rugby?
You answered my next question - so it's 2 hours each way between Corcaigh and Luimneach.
That's like Sydney-Goulburn... 2/3 of the way to Canberra.

Afternoon all. We're steadying ourselves here for the Northern hordes tomorrow for the FA Cup Final. My local will be invaded, and plastic glasses in use.
Thankfully, I'll be in Ealing for the AP play off, and may well hang on for the Pro12 game to let the crowds around Wembley to disperse.

How on earth did London cope when the hoardes of Gogs and Southern Taffies went to Wembley for the Wrexham v Newport County final last week? One of my work colleagues (a Newport fan) went up and had a grand day out anyway. Mind you it's not hard to have a grand day out anywhere else when you live in Newport...

And just as I was thinking how nice to see Rhys Priestland back from injury, he's withdrawn at the last minute. Big disappointment for him.

I now work just outside a village called Newport. It has rekindled my affection for the Dragons, who it should be pointed out, have as many British and Irish Lions as Munster do and even more than Ulster.

If the ref has raised his hand and blown, can he then retract/go to the TMO?

He goes to the TMO not only after he has awarded the try but also after he has blown the final whistle.

I think a ref can reassess if he feels he should.
Not after the final whistle though.
The Scarlets have had sooooo many injuries in this game. Worst I've seen for ages to be honest.

What was the rest of them's excuse. Much as it pains me we wasted the Ospreys slot in the play offs. I don't like the painting by numbers over coached nonsense going on.

Not your best game Glas but all those injuries would disrupt any team.
Notch posted this on the match thread.

Apart from the obvious great decision to honour Nevin in that way I thought I should point out that the School's Player of the Year, Jack Owens, has a (very) tennuous connection to this pub!
Any guesses?

Yeah, we will for sure. Glorious weather here now but I bet it will all change in a month or so. Still warm during the day but a little chilly at night.
Still finalising the accommodations? The Boulevard had an upgrade a few years back. If you get a nice standard room - the views of the harbour will be grand.
Tahs-Stormers is on this evening. We've got to win these home matches. Next weekend is the big Brumbies game... going out to that.

Nah its all long sorted now Breaker. We're down in Darling Harbour in Days St when we're in your neck of the woods.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Pyongyang
Oh, so you're not staying in the Cross?
Darling Harbour will be more exciting. You'll be in the heart of Chinatown but have easy access to the pubs alongside Cockle Bay and your cruiser to Homebush Bay on match day.

Depends which Tour Group they are on, Mrs P.
I think Stag is going to Honkers - so he'll leave in a few weeks time to be there on June 1.
If he's only starting from Perth - well that's on June 5th.
flies out on the 18th - arrives on the 20th for the 1st Test on June 22 in Brisbane.
I've promised to take him for a walk near Duck Creek when he arrives in Sydney.
I'll let him off the chain as long as he behaves himself and doesn't go berserk chasing the wildlife. Huge fines apply you know....

No I'm headed out same as Hound.
We leave 18th June and will get back 10th July.
My boss will do earlier parts of tour. I'll do the latter stages.

Great win for Wigan. I stayed up for it and I'm knackered now. Ben 'Ginger' Watson reminds me of a neighbour who was a good football player... always scored with glancing headers.
Thrilled for Dave Wheelan. The dream came true!
Off to chop some firewood for Mum - and give her 2 large terra cotta pots for Mother's Day. Very foggy here this morning.
